Board of Indian Standards (BIS – Hallmark)

BIS is the National Standard Body of India established under the BIS Act 2016 for the harmonious development of the activities of standardization, marking and quality certification of goods and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. BIS has been providing traceability and tangibility benefits to the national economy in a number of ways – providing safe reliable quality goods; minimizing health hazards to consumers; promoting exports and imports substitute; control over proliferation of varieties etc. through standardization, certification and testing.

Certifications

The Gemological Institute of America (GIA) is a nonprofit institute dedicated to research and education in the field of gemology and the jewelry arts and based in Carlsbad, California.[1] Founded in 1931, GIA’s mission is to protect all buyers and sellers of gemstones by setting and maintaining the standards used to evaluate gemstone quality. The institute does so through research, gem identification and diamond grading services and a variety of educational programs. Through its world-renowned library and subject experts, GIA acts as a resource of gem and jewelry information for the trade, the public and worldwide media outlets.

In 1953 the GIA developed its International Diamond Grading System and the Four Cs (cut, clarity, color, and carat weight) as a standard to compare and evaluate the quality of diamonds.

Today, the institute is headquartered in Carlsbad, California and operates out of 13 countries, with 11 campuses, 9 laboratories and 4 research centers worldwide.

International Gemological Institute (IGI) is a diamond, colored stone and jewelry certification organization. IGI is headquartered in Antwerp and has offices in New York City, Hong Kong, Mumbai, Bangkok, Tokyo, Dubai, Tel Aviv, Toronto, Los Angeles, Kolkata, New Delhi, Surat, Chennai, Thrissur, Ahmedabad, Shanghai, and Cavalese. Established in 1975, IGI is the largest independent gemological laboratory worldwide.[1] It also runs Schools of Gemology in several locations around the globe.

European Gemological Laboratory

E.G.L. reigns supreme in the world of diamond grading. Started in 1973, E.G.L. is the largest independent network of gemological laboratories. E.G.L.’s belief in proficiency, professionalism and perfection has enabled it to become a dominating force in the world of gemological testing and education. Founded by Mr. Guy Margel in Antwerp Belgium. E.G.L. has expanded its frontiers to different parts of the world i.e. South Africa, U.K., Turkey, France, Israel, U.S.A, and South Korea. E.G.L. provides thorough and consistent Quality analysis reports on diamonds and diamond jewellery. It imparts in depth comprehensive training to empower students with internationally recognized diplomas in Diamond Grading and Jewellery Designing.

E.G.L. has its strong infrastructure base in India with laboratory in Mumbai [BKC, SEEPZ, Opera House], Ahmedabad, Surat, Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, headed by Mr.Pritesh Jhaveri. Mr. Pritesh Jhaveri pioneered diamond grading certification in India with his mother company IGL. Innovative transparency and accuracy on analysis report and genuine customer satisfaction attracted E.G.L. to merge its expertise with IGL. The joint venture of Mr. Jhaveri’s IGL and E.G.L.’s international standardization- Make E.G.L. India a supreme force in diamond grading.

SRD T&C

1. SRD is accountable for the Diamond Ornaments purchased as per the standardization of certification issued by international Laboratories.
2. Unworn Ornaments will be exchanged within two days from the date of purchase. On exchange after two days, labour charges applicable will be deducted.
3. SRD requests its esteemed customers to check ornament details, billing, certificate etc… at the time of delivery.
4. SRD doesn’t guarantee the breakage of any ornament. A minimum repairing charge will be applicable in such cases.
5. SRD assures a replacement or repurchase after deduction of labour charges, taxes, pearls, colour stones, polka, vilandi etc… from purchase price of that day of Diamonds and Gold after examining the authenticity of the Diamonds as per SRD policy.
6. The Diamonds herein invoiced are Natural and have been purchased from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolution. The Seller here by guarantees that these Diamonds are conflict free, based on personal knowledge and/or written guarantees provided by the supplier of these Diamonds.
